Building a connection is key in sales, achieved by mirroring and matching a client's speech, tone, and body language to make them feel heard. This non-verbal communication is crucial, as people prefer working with those who are like them. Using these techniques, I became a top agent in LA, leading the #1 team for Keller Williams in California by our fourth year.

Sourcing Sellers

At Real Momentum, we stress the importance of proactively sourcing sellers through various methods like emails, marketing, and networking. Contrary to popular belief, any agent can start as a listing agent since 80% of buyers lose contact with their agents after a sale, leaving them without representation when ready to sell. This makes it easier to be a listing agent than a buyer's agent, and with changes in the real estate industry, now is the perfect time for agents to focus on sellers.

Many agents, even experienced ones, fail to maintain and nurture a database of contacts. Despite my extensive experience managing top agents at Keller Williams, Coldwell Banker, and Compass Beverly Hills and Hollywood, I’ve noticed that 8 out of 10 agents with ten years in the business lack a proper database, and those who have one rarely use it effectively. By consistently adding new contacts and regularly reaching out, agents can significantly increase their market share in a targeted area, proving the importance of nurturing connections in real estate.

Empowerment

Empowerment comes from knowing your numbers and having a solid business plan. For example, if you aim to earn $250,000 in commissions, understanding the average sales price in your area helps you determine how many properties you need to sell each month. Talking to 100 new people monthly to get one listing and nurturing those connections can build a strong pipeline, yet many agents fail because they don't know their numbers and aren't empowered to follow a plan. Understanding these metrics turns potential frustration into motivation and success.
